Springfield Christian Schools

K-8th

Springfield Christian School is driven by the desire to awaken in our children the understanding that God has fearfully and wonderfully created them and that He has a plan for their lives. We encourage our children to explore and understand God’s creation through the lens of revealed Biblical truth and in doing so to realize their potential for success. It is our desire to
provide all the necessary resources to allow every child to succeed in the classroom and to utilize a course of study that will challenge them. Your child and their educational needs will be addressed individually and educational goals established so that they are equipped for the next level of their education.

Parental involvement plays a vital role in the success of a student. We encourage parents to actively participate and interact with the school.

The majority of texts used in the lower grades are published by Christian publishers (A Beka, Bob Jones, Concerned Communications, etc.). Some textbooks are the standard texts used in most schools. We are not bound, however, to one particular required list of adopted texts but are free to choose from among the many publications and texts which present the material most interestingly and effectively that meet the course objectives.

The key to the presentation and use of materials in a Christian school is having Christian teachers. Their deep involvement in the study of God’s Word equips them with a discernment necessary to teach all subjects in harmony with the principles clearly presented in the Bible.

In keeping with its stated philosophy and objectives, Springfield Christian Schools follows the basic school curriculum for all grades as outlined in the Standards by the State of Ohio Department of Education.

The 1st – 8th-grade school program includes Bible study, citizenship, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science and conservation, health, physical education, visual arts, and music.

Our kindergarten program emphasizes readiness and includes the areas of listening, speaking, reading readiness, phonics, beginning reading, work and play with blocks, clay, coloring, scissors, number concepts beginning social studies, science and God’s creation, health and safety, music art, games and free play.
