Latchkey Program

“Eagles’ Nest” is our after-school Latchkey program! It is a challenging and rewarding program that strives to provide your child(ren) with a safe, caring, enriching environment during times when you cannot be together.

It is our prayer and hope that you and your child(ren) will benefit from “Eagles’ Nest” care and supervision. Our intent is to offer you peace of mind in knowing that your youngster(s) is being well cared for and to offer your child(ren) an environment that allows him/her to have fun, socialize, relax and learn as well.

Goals:

To provide care for children after school.
To provide worthwhile activities including social, physical, educational, and relaxing experiences.
To provide self-care instruction and study help.

Hours and Rates:

The hours shall be from 2:45 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. each day school is in session for students.

Hourly rates shall be calculated on 30-minute intervals.
Each child is $2.00 per hour or $1.00 for 30 minutes or less.
Late fees are $10.00 per 15-minute intervals after 6:00 p.m. Any student picked up late more than three (3) times will be dismissed from the latchkey program.

Payment Procedures:

Each Friday of the week you will be given an invoice for the hours you have used the latchkey program. Please be advised that if you use the latchkey program on Friday you will be charged for it the following week. If an account goes unpaid for two weeks, the student(s) will not be permitted to attend our latchkey program until the balance is paid in full.

Activities:

Snacks shall be provided to students daily.
Activities shall include structured and unstructured social activities and physical activities.

Staff members will generally allow children a choice of arts and crafts, sports, age-appropriate table games, homework and quiet reading. Youngsters will have the choice of playing with friends or an activity independent of the group, within limits and without infringement upon the rights of others.

The creation of a positive environment will become a reality only when we are all working together to accomplish common goals. The staff has an obligation to work with youngsters to achieve a safe, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, and ultimately a mutually beneficial situation for everyone involved.

Location & Pick-up:

The location will be at 311 W. High Street, Springfield, Ohio. Whenever you pick your child(ren) up at latchkey, you must enter the building to sign your child(ren) out. Only parents/guardians or those on your list may sign the children out. Please use the High Street entrance.
